So You Think You Want To Skydive?
Everything You Need To Know About Taking The First Step: Tandem Skydiving

Feeling the urge to experience the thrill of skydiving but don’t know where to start? Well, you are not alone – there are over 500,000 first-time skydivers in the United States per year! Whether you are looking to finally cross off that one-time bucket-list item, or more interested in earning your license to go solo, or perhaps somewhere in between, you have come to the right place. Here, we will explain everything you need to know about tandem skydiving – the first step in making your dream of falling through the sky a reality!

What is Tandem Skydiving?

A tandem skydive is where two people (you as a student and a licensed instructor) will exit the aircraft securely harnessed together. You are literally attached (piggy-back style) to a highly-experienced & certified instructor who will be in charge of all of the responsibilities of deploying and operating the parachute. Tandem skydiving was invented in the early 1980’s as a way for the general public to experience skydiving in a more affordable, non-committal way. It has only continued to gain popularity throughout the years. It is the BEST way to experience skydiving for the first time…keep reading to find out why!

Why is Tandem Skydiving a Good First Step?

For future solo skydivers and bucket-listers alike, a tandem skydive is the best way to experience skydiving for the first time. Even if you think you’d rather skip the tandem and begin the student course immediately, here’s why starting out with a tandem at Ultimate Skydiving Adventures is the way to go:

●  You’re in Good Hands With Us!

★  We have passionate, knowledgeable & experienced instructors here at Ultimate Skydiving Adventures, who are dedicated to ensuring you have an epic first experience in the sky!

★  We are located in a beautiful area of Western Colorado with the most amazing views, so you’ll be able to relax & really take it all in.

★  Just like a river guide helps navigate passengers through unfamiliar territory, a skydive instructor does the same. At Ultimate Skydiving Adventures, you will be racing through the sky at 120 mph from 7500 feet above the ground (with a starting elevation of about 5200 ft.) Quite the adrenaline rush! As with most extreme sports, newcomers feel more comfortable with a licensed professional by their side.

★  There are many requirements that a skydiver must achieve before becoming a certified instructor, including at least 3 years of skydiving experience & a minimum of 500 jumps.

★  While instructors are responsible for operating all of the equipment and guiding you safely through every step of the way, you will still have a brief training class before your skydive so you will be prepared for exiting the aircraft, and proper body position for freefall & landing. Breathe – you got this!

★  Safety is our top priority. All of our gear is maintained and inspected by a FAA Master Parachute Rigger.

★  Our entire staff is highly trained and will happily answer any questions along the way!

●  Experience the thrill without the responsibility & commitment of going solo:

★  Going Tandem on your first skydive will help you be free so you can be relaxed & present in the moment.

★  No upfront rigorous training is needed. No added time or monetary commitments!

★  Ideal learning tool for getting hands-on experience while having an instructor present with you to guide you through each step.

★  Gives you a feel for skydiving first – if you love it then you can begin your certification program right away. If not, then it’s much better to find that out with an instructor there, trust us! For this reason, we do require one tandem before your student program can begin, so look at it as a stepping stone to your license! After all, every jump counts!
